Freezing strong arctic winds meant a low attendance but there were plenty of fish to be caught. Once he had put his dummy back in after drawing end peg 34 (ha ha), Les Marshall (Dominator Baits) caught carp and F1s on the bomb and feeder. However it was the last two hours when he did most of the damage on the short pole with expander pellet as the wind eased, this saw two carp up to 10lb banked, more F1s plus eight decent skimmer bream for 25lb.

Despite sub-zero temperatures overnight the lakes producing some cracking weights, with the frame being dominated by Bonsai. There was a surprise ton-up catch from peg 1 for Chris Reilly (Sticky) as bread dobbed into the corner reeds saw lots of F1s banked plus a few carp to 5lb. Runner up Ben Fisk fished similar tactics from peg 42, catching mainly carp in the 2-3lb bracket with a few good better fish up to 7lb.
