Tuesday February 16
Loco Lake (15 pegs)

Loco was the only lake on the complex not frozen solid after an extremely cold night so the match was moved onto it and doubts were cast as to what would be caught. However there were large carp taken all over the place and another four anglers managed over 40lb. Five times world champion Alan Scotthorne took the spoils using the bomb and feeder from peg 33. Check out the frame though, three match legends if ever there was one!

Thursday February 17
Bonsai Lake (23 pegs)
1. G Jubb 101-7-0, peg 44
2. K Cotton 78-3-0, peg 51
3. N Speed 71-2-0, peg 41

Weights were impressive considering how cold the water is after the recent freeze. Gary Jubb found a large shoal of fish on the long pole with bread and pellet and comfortably topped the field.

There was also an over 50’s match on Loco Lake and get this… the winner was Jim Evans with seven carp for 80lb! The biggest was this 17lb beauty, Loco is definitely the most in-form lake on the complex at the minute, give it a try!
