Tommy Pickering finally got the win he has been after all winter, despite having a bit of a ‘Tommy Tantrum’ at drawing unfancied peg 24. Simple bomb and corn or pellet tactics saw him take 16 carp and 18 F1s for a terrific 86lb 6oz. Well done Plip Plop, we knew you had it in you!

Wednesday February 24
Loco Lake, (12 pegs)

A very harsh frost again but Loco remained unfrozen and saw a superb winning catch for James Copley. James went half the match without a fish before he proceeded to empty the lake of its population of big F1s, fishing down the margins to the reeds either side.

Nick Speed rose to top spot in the Thursday open on peg 51, pole fishing long to the aerator with corn and bread for 70lb 2oz.
